Match Review: Colden Common 3-2 Whitehill & Bordon FC

It was a challenging day for Whitehill & Bordon FC as we faced Colden Common in the Hampshire Premier League, resulting in a narrow 3-2 loss away from home. The match was filled with ups and downs, showcasing moments of brilliance and lapses that ultimately determined the outcome.

Dean Worman got us off to a strong start, confidently converting a penalty in the 7th minute to give Whitehill & Bordon FC an early lead. However, an unfortunate error from a backpass led to Colden Common leveling the score. Despite this setback, the team showed great resilience.

Our efforts paid off again just before halftime, with Toby Fuller restoring the lead in the 42nd minute. His goal put us back in control heading into the break, and spirits were high.

The second half, however, saw the momentum shift. Colden Common equalised in the 67th minute and managed to find another goal in the 75th minute, taking a 3-2 lead that we were unable to overturn despite our best efforts.

Match Thoughts

While the result is disappointing, there were positive moments to build on. The early penalty conversion and Fuller’s goal showcased our attacking capabilities, but lapses in concentration ultimately cost us. This match serves as a learning experience as we move forward.

Looking Ahead

We regroup and refocus as we prepare for our next match. Up next is another away game, this time against Denmead FC, on Saturday, 28th September at 3pm.
