Match Report: Locks Heath 3-2 Whitehill & Bordon FC
🏆 Hampshire Premier League – Tuesday 16th April 2024
Whitehill & Bordon FC fell to a narrow defeat on the road Tuesday night, despite a determined and spirited performance away at Locks Heath. In a back-and-forth contest under the lights, the Stags fought back twice to level the match, but a late goal from the hosts saw them edge a hard-fought 3-2 win.

First Half
Locks Heath made a quick start and broke the deadlock early, going 1-0 up. Whitehill & Bordon worked their way into the game, gaining more possession and territory as the half progressed, but couldn’t find the breakthrough before the break.
Second Half
The Stags came out with renewed energy after the break and were rewarded when an offside decision was overturned by the referee, allowing the equaliser to stand and bringing the score to 1-1. However, Locks Heath hit back almost immediately to regain the lead at 2-1 — but once again, Whitehill & Bordon responded with determination and belief.
A foul in the box handed the visitors a lifeline and Dean Worman calmly converted from the penalty spot to bring things back to 2-2. With momentum building, it looked like the Stags might go on to win it, but a late counter from Locks Heath saw them grab a third — and ultimately the winner — in a dramatic final phase. Manager’s Comments
“It’s a tough result to take because the lads put in a real shift. We showed a lot of character to come from behind twice, but just switched off at a key moment late on. These are the fine margins we need to manage better. We’ll regroup and get ready to go again this weekend.”
Thanks to everyone who made the journey to support the lads — your backing means everything.
Up the Stags! 🦌🔴🔵
