Match Report: Whitehill & Bordon FC 1-3 Denmead

🏆 Hampshire Premier League – Monday 21st April 2024

Whitehill & Bordon FC’s Easter Monday fixture at The Daly Ground ended in disappointment, as Denmead came away with a 3-1 victory following a strong second-half performance.

First Half

The Stags came into the game looking to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat to Liss Athletic, and for much of the first half, they looked well up for the challenge. Despite going behind early, Whitehill & Bordon responded positively and found the equaliser through Ciaran Judd, who curled home a superb free-kick to make it 1-1 before the break.

Second Half

The second half, however, saw Denmead take control. They regained the lead midway through the half and added a third shortly after, punishing some lapses in concentration and taking advantage of the space afforded to them in transition.

Despite some late effort from the Stags, the deficit proved too much to overcome. It was a spirited showing at times, but ultimately, Whitehill & Bordon were left to rue missed opportunities and defensive errors.

Manager’s Comments:

“We started well and looked sharp in the first half. Ciaran’s goal was top class, but we didn’t manage the second half well enough. Credit to Denmead — they took their chances.”

Thank you to everyone who came down and supported the lads — your backing always means the world.
